Dawson eager to make most of break

Watford defender Craig Dawson says the squad will put in the hard work during the international break. The Hornets picked up their first three points of the season on Friday night as they claimed a 2-0 win at Norwich thanks to goals from Gerard Deulofeu and Andre Gray.
Dawson was delighted with the victory and the clean sheet, particularly as they had to play the last 25 minutes with 10 men after Christian Kabasele picked up a second yellow card, and he has now urged his side to ensure it isn’t a one-off. “It’s great to go into the international break with those three points,” he told Added Time. “Next week we will be working hard on the training pitch to make sure we can follow it up.”
Watford moved off the bottom of the table thanks to the win at Carrow Road and are now just three points adrift of safety.
Dawson feels his side’s defensive effort was key in the victory and he believes the win over Norwich can be “just the start for” Watford as they bid to pull clear of the relegation zone.
The Hornets entertain Burnley in their next fixture after the international break and then take on fellow strugglers Southampton away in a key clash.
Watford will be without Kabasele due to suspension when they welcome the Clarets to Vicarage Road and Roberto Pereyra is also a doubt at this stage.
Pereyra had to be substituted in the first half against the Canaries with a hamstring problem and has been forced to withdraw from the Argentina squad for their upcoming friendly fixtures against Brazil and Uruguay, which are to be played in Saudi Arabia and Israel respectively.
