Defender Craig Dawson is confident that Watford’s first Premier League win of the season is not too far away and backed the players to stand up and be counted. With 11 games gone, the Vicarage Road outfit have yet to take three points from a match, with five draws seeing them sit bottom of the table.
Six points separate Quique Sanchez Flores’s side from 17th-placed Everton but there is still time to turn things around.
Every game is now vital as the Hornets seek to get that first victory on the board, with a trip to Carrow Road to take on fellow strugglers Norwich City next on the agenda on Friday evening.

It remains to be seen if the visitors can get the better of the Canaries but Dawson has made it clear that he and his team-mates are doing all they can to put things right. “Everyone’s working really hard and we’re not far away from that win, so we need to keep on working hard,” he told the club’s official website. “The win will come and that will build confidence.”
The impending return of talismanic striker Troy Deeney will be a massive boost to all concerned as the 31-year has been out since August with a knee injury.
He is a huge presence on and off the field at the Hertfordshire outfit, just one of a number of players with larger than life personalities, according to the former West Brom stopper. “We’ve got some pretty big characters in the squad trying to keep us all together and everyone’s working hard as a team,” added Dawson.
The next three games are crucial for Watford as Burnley travel south on November 23 after the international break before Flores takes his men to St Mary’s to face a Southampton side also currently in the relegation zone.
