Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has once again hailed David de Gea as the best goalkeeper in the world following his performance against Liverpool.
The Spaniard was relatively untested at against United’s bitter rivals at Anfield last night but if not for his exploits then the result would surely have been a lot different.
He was called into action to keep out Emre Can’s effort early in the second half then produced an outstanding save todeny Philippe Coutinho’s shot which looked destined for the net and earned praise from Ferdinand on Twittershortly after the final whistle on Merseyside.
What a save from this man @D_DeGea 👏🏽 no1 in the world for me right now! #LIVMUN pic.twitter.com/jWXqgYpMWf

De Gea’s saves were arguably the standout moments of a game which failed to live up to all the pre-match hype as the hosts were unable to find their rhythm, while United seemed content with a point throughout.
The goalless draw means the gap between the two clubs stays at three and not for the first time in recent years de Gea has been the saviour for the Red Devils.
