Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has rubbished reports he has had a bust-up with coach Carlo Ancelotti, while he has also issued a message to Lorenzo Insigne. The 70-year-old has broken his silence after it was suggested Ancelotti was considering his future at Stadio San Paolo following words between the pair.
But De Laurentiis scoffed at the “important newspapers” that published the claims and insisted that they “get it all wrong” in their quest for an exclusive story.
Indeed, the Napoli supremo insisted Ancelotti, who penned a three-year deal when he took charge of the Italian Serie A side in summer 2018, “can stay for another 10 years”.
Meanwhile, De Laurentiis also urged Lorenzo to “change his attitude” after the captain’s commitment to I Partenopei was questioned in the opening two months of the season.
When asked about the 28-year-old forward, he said: “He’s always had an attitude of discomfort in Naples. I understand him, I protect him and I like him a lot, but he’s always found his situation in Naples to be uncomfortable. “Therefore, I just want to say that he needs to calm down and become a more peaceful person, but that’s his problem. Neither Raiola nor Ancelotti can resolve that.”
De Laurentiis also backed summer signing Hirving Lozano to come good for Napoli after a quiet start to the campaign.
The 24-year-old Mexico international joined in a €42 million from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven and has scored just once in five Serie A outings to date.
