The Red Devils face Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday, hoping to defeat the Reds again after a 4-3 FA Cup quarter-final victory last month.
However, if United is to win this game, they will need to overcome the odds.
Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans appear to have added to their ever-growing injury list in their 4-3 defeat to Chelsea.
Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez, United’s center back duo, would be out of the team for at least a month prior to that game.
Martinez suffered a calf injury during practice after making his first appearance on the field since United’s 1-1 draw with Brentford in early February.
Lindelof also suffered a hamstring injury during the Brentford game. Varane, meanwhile, left the game during halftime despite having been cleared to play at Stamford Bridge.
Evans, who replaced him, played just 20 minutes before being forced off due to injury, making matters worse for United.
Ten Hag mused on the challenges of managing player injuries in a game as close as this one, as midfielder Casemiro was also forced off due to injury.
He continued: “That doesn’t help in such moments if you have to manage the game, [it helps] that there are leaders on the pitch.”
Man United’s Defeat Predicted
The Dutchman went on, “We also need to take off, Casemiro. That is not beneficial. They are skilled at handling pressure and bringing the victory over the finish line.
“I can’t tell now what it is in prospect of Sunday, but we have to take them both off.”

And in response to a specific question about Varane’s availability for their matchup with Liverpool, Ten Hag said, “At this time, I’m not sure.” I’m powerless to assist.”
This implies that United’s starting lineup against Liverpool may not resemble any of the lineups we have seen thus far this season, with a significantly inexperienced bench.
Consequently, ex-Striker Dean Saunders of Liverpool is backing his old team to win the match with great significance.
“I think Liverpool will win,” he stated in the talkSPORT official Website. You can’t sustain continuous blows to the chin the way Manchester United does.
“And Liverpool could score three or four goals ahead of schedule if they score first. Therefore, I’m picking Liverpool 4-1.”
“I’m going to go [Darwin] Nunez hat-trick – it’s coming, it’s coming any minute!” he exclaimed in response to a question about where the goals would originate.
The Uruguayan forward has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season despite missing 43 “big chances.”
Throughout his 44 appearances, he has contributed with 32 goal involvements and 14 assists.
