Barcelona sporting director, Deco was reportedly coy in his response when asked about the possibility of Neymar Jr. returning to the club.
As he looks to return to a big European club at the age of 33, Neymar is said to be in negotiations with Barcelona about a surprise reunion this summer after rejoining Brazilian team Santos in January.
Later, it was revealed that Barcelona had given the Brazil international a challenge to score 15 goals in the second half of the season in order to demonstrate his continued suitability for this level and secure a free move for himself when his Santos contract expired.
In an interview with TNT Sports as echoed by 90min, Deco was asked about a possible deal for the former PSG forward and hinted at a summer reunion—at least for the time being.

“I support Neymar. I want him to be happy and his team needs him,” Deco began. “Everyone who likes football needs to see a happy Neymar.
“Ney is an important player. I think that if one day a situation like this [a reunion] were to arise, it would be good for him and good for us.”
However, he acknowledged that the squad must be assembled with “the head” as he went on to rule out a move for Neymar right now.
“Neymar was a phenomenon who passed through here,” Deco concluded. “He did what he did. He won what he won… Sometimes these stories don’t repeat themselves.
“They can repeat themselves, you never know… But I think that this is not the time for Barcelona to think about Neymar, nor for Neymar to think about that.”
