Supporters caught their first glimpse of Ousmane Dembele in a Barcelona shirt as the France international was unveiled at the Nou Camp following his £96million move from Borussia Dortmund.
The France international forward, 20, put pen to paper on a five-year contract after completing his medical earlier on Monday.
Dembele then performed a few ball skills and posed for photographs on the Nou Camp pitch wearing the No 11 jersey vacated by Neymar.
A video released on Barcelona’s official twitter feed showed the forward being put through a number of physical and medical tests on Monday morning as scores of supporters gathered outside the Nou Camp ahead of his official unveiling.
Barcelona forked out a club-record fee for the former Borussia Dortmund forward following the £198m departure of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain.
‘I am very happy to be here. It has always been my dream to be at Barcelona,’ Dembele told the club’s website after sealing his five-year deal. ‘And now I’m here I’m very happy to have achieved my dream.’
‘This is the best club in the world with the best players in the world… my aim is to do everything for the club, everything for the team, and to have an understanding with my team-mates.’
It is believed the deal to bring Dembele to the Nou Camp could cost Barcelona as much as £136m.
The forward was left out of France’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Holland and Luxembourg after missing Dortmund training amid reports he was set to leave.
But Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde insists the forward is exactly the kind of threat his side are lacking following the departure of Neymar.
‘He’s a player who guarantees an attacking threat, which is something we had lost and we badly need,’ Valverde said.
‘He can play on either wing or through the middle, he gets forward a lot and is very technical. We expect a lot from him and we’re very excited about him.’
