Despite a long career in LaLiga, Alex Bergantinos has only managed to score four goals – but three of them have now come against Barcelona.
There is no doubt that the Deportivo midfielder has the measure of the Catalans and he was only playing in the fixture on Sunday because of Pepe Mel.
Before the new coach’s arrival, he hadn’t played a single minute in the league, Gaizka Garitano only using him in the Copa del Rey.
Now, he has assumed a leading role again.
He played 14 minutes against Atletico and on Sunday he responded to the confidence of the coach with a goal that hands three important points to the Galicians.
His first goal against the Blaugrana was in the 2012/13 season, although Depor lost an epic contest 5-4.
In the 2015/16 campaign they drew at the Camp Nou thanks to Bergantinos’ 85th minute intervention, and he also notched against Betis in that same season.
