Beckham Urges Cristiano Ronaldo To Remain At Man United, Despite Leaving Rumours

Cristiano Ronaldo has been asked to stay at Manchester United for at least another season by former player and legend David Beckham.

Given United’s disastrous season, rumors have persisted that Ronaldo may consider a move elsewhere. The Red Devils will most likely be eliminated from the Champions League. If West Ham wins all of its remaining games, they may lose their Europa League spot.

David Beckham believes he would welcome change at Manchester United ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, but that Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to be a part of the club’s future plans.

What did Beckham have to say about Cristiano Ronaldo?

The former United midfielder told Sky Sports at the Miami Grand Prix that fans want the 37-year-old to finish his contract, which expires in 2023.

“Obviously, Cristiano is one of the finest players over the last 15 years with Leo [Messi],” Beckham told Sky Sports about the prospect of Ronaldo continuing at Old Trafford. It is crucial for both the supporters and him to see him continuing at United. We understand how important United is to him.

“And he continues to do what he does best.” Cristiano is known for scoring goals and generating opportunities.

“To be accomplishing what he is doing at his age is incredible.” Hopefully, that will continue, and he will stay another year or two.”

Beckham hails Manchester United fans

Beckham also commended Manchester United fans for their support during the club’s challenging season.

Under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, the Red Devils have lost three of their previous five matches, including a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Brighton on Saturday.

“There are adjustments to be done and changes that are happening,” Beckham, who played 394 times for the club from 1992 to 2003, stated.

“It’s been a difficult end to the season, but it is the end of the season, and I’m sure a lot of fans are relieved because it’s been a long one with many ups and downs.”

“The players have done their best, and the manager has done his best, but you still show up at the stadium; I was there a few months ago, and every seat was full.”
