Chelsea’s task to sign Erling Haaland could prove difficult, as Borussia Dortmund have played down speculation that he could leave the club.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are determined to sign a top striker during the summer transfer window and Haaland is said to be their top target.
Dortmund though who are already set to lose Jadon Sancho this summer, are determined to keep Haaland despite Roman Abramovich reportedly setting aside £150m to sign him.
Ex-Dortmund captain and soon to be sporting director Sebastian Kehl has told Sky Germany: ‘There is nothing new on this matter. He is in our plans.
‘Erling will return this week and he will be very hungry. He wants to play football, he feels comfortable with us and he will be eager to score many goals.’
The comments come not long after current sporting director Michael Zorc played down suggestions that Haaland could leave the club.
Sources have also told Sky Sports that Dortmund don’t want to lose Haaland, especially because they are already letting Sancho go.
A source reportedly told Sky: ‘Chelsea are trying but it is going to be very difficult.
‘At the moment it looks like mission impossible. It is unlikely but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen.’
Haaland has a £70m release clause in his Dortmund contract which can be activated next summer.
