Valencia winger Ferran Torres has emerged as a January transfer target for Borussia Dortmund. Reports in Spain say the 19-year old has been watched by Dortmund scouts recently and the Bundesliga giants are preparing to make an offer for him in the new year.
Torres is under contract with Los Che until 2021 and is rated as one of the best teenage prospects in La Liga, having already clocked up 65 senior appearances for the club since making his debut in November 2017.
Several other scouts from Europe’s top clubs have also been tracking Torres, including representatives from Barcelona and current Champions League holders Liverpool.
It’s thought he could be available for around £20million in Januar,y with Valencia aware he will only have a year left on his deal at the end of the season.
The youngster is tipped to be a future star at international level for Spain after so far earning four Under-21 caps for his country.
He caught the eye in the European Under-19 Championship in Armenia in the summer when scoring both goals in the final – a 2-0 victory over Portugal.
Dortmund are fearful of losing England international Jadon Sancho next summer and have reportedly identified Torres as the man to replace him long term at the Westfalenstadion following his impressive displays.
Torres has been a regular in Valencia’s matchday La Liga squad so far this season, starting six games and coming on a further four times from the bench. He will hope to start when his side go to Espanyol on Saturday.
