Anthony Losilla’s screamer from outside the box gave Bochum, who are one place and two points above the drop zone, a goal after only five minutes.
Dortmund soon responded, drawing even thanks to a length-of-the-field team move that ended with a tap-in from Karim Adeyemi.
Adeyemi appeared to have been awarded a penalty as the game came to a close when he was hauled down in the area by Danilo Soares, but the official dismissed the incident.
In the final minutes, Dortmund occupied the Bochum penalty area and had the ball in the back of the net through Mats Hummels, but the linesman quickly raised the flag as the defender was offside.

If Bayern Munich defeats last-place Hertha Berlin at home on Sunday, they will go one point clear in their pursuit of an 11th consecutive league title.
Edin Terzic, the manager of Dortmund, lamented the “extremely bitter” result, saying that his team had a “rare chance to be so close to the championship.”
Terzic said the referee’s failure to check the Adeyemi penalty incident was “a key scene” in the draw.
