Borussia Dortmund have trolled Manchester United with a tweet of Jadon Sancho after the most recent update in the Red Devils pursuit of the winger.
The Red Devils have been chasing the signature of the England international for quite some time, but their potential deal took a huge blow as the Dortmund director said that Sancho will be staying in Germany for a further season.
Sancho has now after he jetted off with his team-mates to Switzerland for a pre-season training camp and the club made the most of it on their Twitter account.
Along with a photo of the 20-year-old smiling, they wrote: ‘You love to see it’, in response to the recent developments.
Dortmund chief Michael Zorc said: ‘We plan with Jadon Sancho. He’ll play for us next season. The decision is final. I think that answers all of the questions.’
Zorc also went on to reveal that the club secretly renewed Sancho’s contract until 2023 a year ago.
However, the Red Devils still remain hopeful of landing the England international with the two clubs remaining at loggerheads over his £108million valuation.
Dortmund’s valuation of the England winger continues to be a stumbling block along with the players’ wages and his agent’s fees. United are determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past few years which has seen them make some costly mistakes in the transfer market.
German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten – based in Dortmund – have reported that Sancho’s contract does not include a buy-out clause.
United and Dortmund were understood to have been far apart in terms of valuation, with the latter’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke resolute in holding out for a huge £108m for their prized asset.
