Edouard Mendy has reportedly rejected a new six-year contract at Chelsea, with the goalkeeper unhappy with the wages that have been offered.
The Senegal international has two and a half years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but the club has been in talks with his agents about a new deal.
According to The Sun, Chelsea offered Mendy a six-year deal, but he turned it down because the wages were ‘disrespectful’.
According to the report, the 30-year-old currently makes roughly £100,000 per week, but he wants a deal worth around £200,000, which would put him on par with Kepa Arrizabalaga.
“Edouard is back at Chelsea and he is ready to play,” a club insider told the Sun. “But there is a feeling that the contract situation is just going nowhere.”
“Edouard has won some huge trophies for Chelsea – but there is a sense that he is not being shown enough respect by the club over a new deal.”
AC Milan, Nice, and Monaco are thought to be monitoring the situation in case he presses for a move away from Stamford Bridge next year.

During his stint at Chelsea, Mendy won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup, as well as representing the club on 104 occasions in all competitions.
The Senegal international was the club’s uncontested number one throughout the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, and he has appeared nine times this season.
Mendy lost his starting spot to Kepa in October, although the latter suffered an injury that allowed the former to play in the team’s last three Premier League games.
Graham Potter’s squad will be looking to get back on track when they host Bournemouth on December 27.
