Emiliano Marcondes says long-standing interest played a big role in his decision to join Hibernian, before admitting: “As a young player, I never thought about playing in Scotland.”
Marcondes left Cherries to sign a loan agreement with the Scottish Premiership team that will run until the end of the current campaign.

In the Scottish Cup on Wednesday against Rangers, he might make his debut.
Since May, when he was on loan at FC Nordsjaelland, Marcondes has not played in a league.
Shortly after, the 28-year-old had foot surgery, and in the last several weeks, he hasn’t been utilized as a stand-in for Cherries.
Emiliano Marcondes Reaction?
Discussing his move to Nick Montgomery’s Hibees, who sit sixth in the Scottish top flight, Marcondes told Hibs TV: “I’m very happy to be here. There was interest in the summer also, when I was injured.
“So that’s nice, to feel wanted, even though I was injured.
“I think that played a big part. Right now I need some consistency in playing and a place where I can play the football I want to.
“The conversations I have had with the manager have been very good. Also I want to try something new, a new country.
“I know it’s still the UK, but it’s a different league and that’s what I wanted, to test myself.
“Just to get out there and play football is the most important for me right now, because I’ve been injured for a long time. I’m just very motivated and excited to be here.”
“I haven’t really watched much. But I have found it really interesting, when you see some of the games on Sky Sports. It is fast football.
“To now test myself on this level is something I am quite motivated and excited about.
“A lot of people and fans will probably think I am not suited for Scottish football.
“But I think I am bit more mature and experienced as a player now and I want to still grow and get better.
“This is a great opportunity for me.”
