When two Harry Maguire blunders allowed an Ilkay Gundogan penalty and a Kai Havertz beauty, things were looking gloomy for the confidence-hit hosts.
But somehow, from 2-0 down, England fought back with a four-minute double from the excellent Luke Shaw and Mason Mount.
Then, Harry Kane’s ferocious penalty made it 3-2 as England ended their goal drought in style.
Wembley was rocking and people were starting to believe again, however Nick Pope spilled Serge Gnabry’s shot, allowing Havertz to score again and tie the score.

Southgate’s team were already eliminated from Nations League Group A3 and have now gone six games without a victory for the first time in 29 years.
However, that comeback will at least leave fans with the impression that this group of players still have potentials. First, they need to find form and confidence before their World Cup opener against Iran on November 21.
