LOSC Lille midfielder, Angel Gomes is reportedly opened to a return to Manchester United after a stellar season in Ligue 1.
Gomes is in the last year of his Lille contract, so in January he may begin talking about potential moves to clubs outside of France.
After graduating from Manchester United’s academy, Gomes made his first-team debut in May 2017 against Crystal Palace at the age of 16. By doing this, he became the first player born in the 2000s to play in the Premier League and the youngest player to represent the team since Duncan Edwards in 1953.
Despite only making ten appearances across all competitions, the midfielder stayed with Manchester United until 2020. That summer, Gomes signed a free transfer to Lille before being sent on loan to Boavista in Portugal for a season.

After returning back to Lille in 2021, Gomes has excelled in Ligue 1, increasingly playing more matches and earning more responsibilities within the first squad. So much so that he was the league’s joint-top assist provider last season.
Gomes’ efforts at Lille earned him a call up to the England first squad in September, with his official debut coming for the Three Lions’ 2-0 win away to the Republic of Ireland.
