Barcelona defender Eric Garcia reportedly intends to stay and compete for a spot at Camp Nou, despite interest from Arsenal.
The 22-year-old left Manchester City in 2021 to join Catalonia, and he has since made 50 appearances for the La Liga giants, scoring once and assisting once.
Garcia made 36 appearances for La Blaugrana in his debut season, but he has struggled to get regular starts this season due to intense competition for center-back spots.
The Spaniard has made 14 appearances across all competitions but hasn’t been a regular member of Xavi’s starting lineup, with Jules Kounde and Andreas Christensen both arriving to compete with Garcia and Ronald Araujo for playing time.
Garcia has started eight La Liga games this season, as well as two in the Champions League, and has been an unused substitute in his team’s last four top-flight appearances.
The ex-Man City youngster is under contract at Camp Nou until 2026, but Arsenal are interested in bringing him back to the Premier League, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Garcia worked under Gunners manager Mikel Arteta as Pep Guardiola’s assistant, appearing in 35 games for Man City before returning to Barcelona.
According to the report, Barcelona are not considering selling Garcia under any circumstances, and the player himself would turn down the chance to sign with the Gunners.
Furthermore, Xavi is unlikely to approve Garcia’s sale this month as Barcelona competes in La Liga, the Europa League, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.
