Manchester United Boss Erik ten Hag has revealed that the club have not made a decision yet on extending the contract of David de Gea.
The Spaniard joined United in 2011, and he made his 500th appearance for the club against Newcastle United on Sunday.
De Gea’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and while United have the option to extend it by another year, Ten Hag has stressed that no decision on the goalkeeper’s future has been taken.
Ten Hag told the Metro that Manchester United have not decided whether to extend De Gea’s contract. However, the Dutch manager is pleased with the Spaniard, and a decision on his future in Manchester will be taken in the winter.

“We didn’t make a decision on him, but what I can say is that I am really happy with David De Gea as a keeper.
“His first two performances of the season were not his best performances, but after you see he brings us a lot for the defence department, gives stability and as a person I like him.
“I can really cooperate with him really well but first we go to the winter and then we will talk about how we deal with the situations.”
“In this moment we only think about perfoming, we have a lot of games to go, so I don’t want to get that interfered by talks, we have to focus on football and performances, not on negotiating. That’s what we have to do now.”
Despite the fact that the Red Devils are reportedly seeking for a replacement, De Gea has started every game for United this season, maintaining five clean sheets in 13 games.
