Erik ten Hag dropped one of his players from the club’s pre-season tour after he was twice late to team meetings.
The Dutch coach has made an impressive start at Old Trafford, with the players showing positive signs of understanding his techniques and strategies.
Ten Hag, on the other hand, places equal emphasis on matters off the field, and he has made it clear that disciplinary violations will not be condoned.
That much was obvious when, according to The Athletic, an unnamed player was twice late for team meetings and was dismissed from Ten Hag’s preparations for a friendly in Australia.
Ten Hag had intended to use the player, but he was punished by being completely left out.
The Dutchman places a high value on punctuality and will not allow standards to deteriorate as they did under past managers.

Similar personality might be found in the dressing room with Sir Alex Ferguson. The legendary United coach was known for being tough on his players. Among others, David Beckham, Roy Keane, and Jaap Stam have all experienced the Scottish legend’s wrath.
Ten Hag appears to be reintroducing the same principles to Manchester. Since Ferguson left the dugout in 2013, the Red Devils’ standards have dipped.
