United manager, Erik ten Hag, has lauded his star duo after they both scored in Manchester United’s win over Liverpool and labeled them a threat.
Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho both scored in the 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday night. Ten Hag has now backed the pair to thrive under his system.
The two have endured a torrid time at United through last season till now. Rashford’s goal on Monday was his first United goal since January 22.
Meanwhile, Sancho hasn’t quite lived up to the billing since making a move from Dortmund last summer. His goal against Liverpool was just his 4th Premier League goal.
What Did Ten Hag Say?
After the English duo’s outstanding displays on Monday night, Ten Hag has predicted that United’s opponents would have a difficult time containing them this season.
The Dutch manager told MUTV: “I’m convinced they can be really a threat, really a weapon against every opponent.
“As long as their focus and energy is there with them, it is very difficult to stop them. So it’s about the team getting them in the right situation and also about themselves.
“With the right approach, right focus in the game and battling, defending, pressing. But also dribbles and combinations and runs in behind.”
United’s unexpected victory over Liverpool has given their season a boost as they were winless in their opening two fixtures.

Ten Hag is anxious for his team to continue to succeed. He has urged them to ensure they always bring their best level.
“Accept that you have have to hurt yourself, you have to suffer, to finally get the best level out of you,” the coach stated.
Ten Hag’s team will next travel to St Mary’s to battle Southampton.
