Manchester United head Boss Erik ten Hag has stated that his team have had an “excellent pre-season,” with their preparations for the 2022-23 season wrapping up on Sunday.
The Red Devils have played six friendlies this summer, defeating Liverpool, Melbourne Victory, and Crystal Palace while on a pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, as well as drawing with Aston Villa.
The 20-time English champions then suffered a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Saturday before playing to a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Man United will now have a full week of preparations before their 2022-23 season opener against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Sunday.

What Has Erik Ten Hag Said About Man United?
Ten Hag is satisfied with his team’s preparations for the new season, claiming that “good progress” has been made in recent weeks.
“Overall, definitely. I think we [have had] a good pre-season. We make good progress. We are ready for the season. I know there is still room for improvement. We have to improve and that is also a process that continues during the season. But, for next week, it’s about the result as well,” Ten Hag told Ten Hag told MUTV after the game, according to the Manchester Evening News.
“It was a mixture between experience and youth [today]. Some guys, they need to see today, for the first time, what you can expect. You saw the attitude was really great, really the intention to co-operate. They fight and work for each other. That was positive.
“We create also a lot of chances and also conceded some chances. Overall, we have to be satisfied with this performance.”
Man United came in sixth place in the Premier League last season, but Ten Hag will be in charge of leading a push to crack the top four in the upcoming season.
The Red Devils will also play Brentford, Liverpool, and Southampton in the first month of the new season before travelling to Leicester City at the beginning of September.
