Erik Ten Hag Told He Turned Manchester United Into A ‘Laughing Stock’

Erik ten Hag is already under pressure for his job following Manchester United’s thrashing by Liverpool at Old Trafford, with Thomas Tuchel set up as a prospective replacement.

Richard Keys has encouraged Manchester United to fire Erik ten Hag, stating that his poor administration has made the club a laughing joke.

United were beaten 3-0 at Old Trafford by Liverpool on Sunday, demonstrating how far behind their competitors they are. Ten Hag’s roster was reinforced by a £250 million investment in Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, although his team has had a sluggish start to the 2024/25 season.

Ten Hag made headlines in the lead-up to the match by defending his record, pointing out that his United club has won more titles than Liverpool in recent years. Those words proved ill-advised on Sunday, as Liverpool ripped his team apart, taking advantage of two Casemiro blunders to win comfortably.

The Dutchman barely kept his job after winning the FA Cup in the summer, but he is now under pressure. Former Sky Sports presenter Keys believes Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his executive team should pull the trigger early to avert more damage.

“Your team was hopeless in both halves,” Keys stated on his blog. “How many times have I mentioned that he lives in a parallel universe? It is embarrassing. Remember, this is Manchester United.

“I’d fire him now. No. I would’ve fired him in the summer. Perhaps even before that. He is not the proper person to handle United. He’s making them seem ridiculous. ‘I’m not Harry Potter,’ he told reporters. He’s correct. I’d say more Graham Potter.”
