Erik ten Hag Will Remain At Manchester United Until The End Of The Season

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has expressed his admiration for the Dutch manager, Erik ten Hag and has decided to keep him in charge of Manchester United until the end of the current campaign.

Irish Times believes that the Man United boss was under a lot of pressure going into Sunday’s 4-3 FA Cup quarterfinal victory over Liverpool because it was United’s final opportunity to win a trophy this season.

Victory means the campaign will still be active until the weekend of the cup semifinals.

It is believed that Ratcliffe and his important lieutenant, Sir Dave Brailsford have determined that Ten Hag should wait until the end of the current term before making any long-term decisions about his future.

This is because the Premier League season ends in one month and United could advance to second consecutive cup final if they defeat Coventry at Wembley.

Ratcliffe and Brailsford want to give Ten Hag as much say as possible, so he is involved in conversations about the team and preparations for the summer transfer window.

Ratcliffe is aware that finding a replacement will be difficult even though Ten Hag’s contract has one year left in it after the close season.

As for Gareth Southgate as a candidate, it is recognized that while Ratcliffe and Brailsford regard the England manager as one of the best, he is just one of many in the game who hold this distinction.
