Christian Eriksen has detailed why he turned down several other offers to join Manchester United as a free agent.
Eriksen returned to competitive football at Brentford in February after being forced to cut connections with Serie A club Inter due to the installation of a defibrillator.
After his short-term contract at Brentford expired in the summer, he had interest from a number of teams.
He ultimately made the decision to go to Old Trafford as he wanted to show that he could still compete at the highest level after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 a year earlier.
What Did Eriksen Say About Joining United?
The former Tottenham star performed admirably while playing for the Bees in his Premier League return. This helped him secure a three-year contract with Manchester United in the summer.

According to Eriksen, who explained his decision to join the Red Devils to Viaplay: “It is one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“It was a redemption after what had happened earlier, and like proving that you could get an offer from United. It was great. It’s a huge club I’ve joined.
“I had enough [opportunities]. I had enough options to choose from, but it was all about finding the right one.
“Of course, Brentford wanted me to stay but I would say where I am in my career, I had the opportunity to step up to what I had dreamed of and hoped for.
“I wanted to kick-start my career by coming to an even bigger address [club], and I succeeded.”
