Norway have suffered a significant blow as superstar striker Erling Haaland withdraws from their Euro 2024 qualifying matches with a groin injury.
The Manchester City goal machine, who has scored an astounding 42 goals in 37 games for Pep Guardiola’s team, will be a big miss for Norway.

Many predict that Scotland or Norway will finish best of the rest, with Spain being the heavy favorite to win Group A.
However, with the first round of games just a few days away, Haaland’s absence puts Norway in a difficult position.
Norway have now confirmed via an official statement that Haaland will be returning back to England to work on his fitness with City’s medical staff – meaning he will not feature in Euro 2024 qualifiers against Spain and Georgia during the international break.

“Erling Braut Haaland had some pain in his groin after the match against Burnley,” The Norwegian FA said.
“We hoped that this was just a familiarity that would carry over to Saturday, but after doing tests and examinations yesterday it became clear that he will not make it to the games against Spain and Georgia.
“‘It is better that he receives medical follow-up at the club’, says national team doctor Ola Sand.
“Haaland thus travels home from the national team meeting.”
