Erling Haaland: Man City’s Striker ‘Not Concerned’ About Settling Into Premier League

Erling Haaland says he is not concerned about settling in the Premier League following his transfer Borussia Dortmund this summer.

City fell 3-1 to Liverpool in the 2022 Community Shield, as Haaland was unable to score in a performance that saw him lose key chances, including one from apparently unmissable range.

The 22-year-old joined City from Borussia Dortmund for £51.1m this summer and is anticipated to add a productive edge to their front line, but he isn’t concerned about needing time to adapt.

What Did Haaland Say About Adjusting?

In an interview with Sky Sports, Haaland acknowledged the concept of a transition period: People can take time, people can come directly into it. We have to see, but I’m not concerned.”

He continued: ”

“People can take time, people can come directly into it. We have to see, but I’m not concerned. That’s life as a footballer – you have to live with it.

“You are a kind of entertainer. You get judged every single week for what you do on the pitch and you have to deliver and do your best.

“For me as a striker, this is something I cannot stress about because if you think too much, you might end up doing things you don’t want to do.

“It’s all about trying to enjoy, live in the moment. People talk about what you did a year ago, but it’s the next game that counts.”

Haaland Believes He Can Improve At Man City

Haaland believes he can improve even more at City despite having such a spectacular scoring record for Dortmund (86 goals in 89 appearances).

He stated: “I can improve everything. If you think I’m good at one thing, I can always get better.”

He went on to say that he is excited to be playing under Pep Guardiola and that he must continue to improve.

Haaland stated: “Part of the game is to get out of your comfort zone which is something I’ve been doing and something I like because then you develop more as a human being as well.”
