Everton are reportedly preparing for the possibility that Manchester United could make a bid for Jordan Pickford.
David De Gea, the long-serving goalkeeper, has failed to reach an agreement on a new contract. Therefore Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is expected to replace him this summer.
Pickford is one of a number of goalkeepers who United are considering as a possible replacement for De Gea, a veteran at the club. Andre Onana of Inter Milan and Porto’s Diogo Costa have both been mentioned in relation to a move to Old Trafford.
Regardless of what would happen with the 32-year-old’s future this summer. United were expected to recruit a goalkeeper to compete with De Gea. Pickford has been touted as one of the names the team is considering.
According to The Sun, Everton are anxious about his exit. Despite his team’s brief flirtation with the relegation zone last season, the 29-year-old was in excellent form. If Pickford leaves, the Toffees have a plan in place for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
It is believed that Johnstone’s Selhurst Park deal includes a £10 million release clause. He joined Palace in the summer of the previous year. But Roy Hodgson’s comeback allowed him to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup.

Vicente Guaita was not included in the squad as the 30-year-old participated in each of the final nine Premier League games.
Despite being reportedly settled in London, his family ties in Preston up north might make a relocation to Merseyside easier.
