Former Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri has reportedly snubbed an offer from Nottingham Forest to become their manager.
Following a run of five losses in six games, Sarri resigned as Lazio manager earlier this month. This was immediately after Bayern Munich eliminated his team from the Champions League.
The 65-year-old, who signed with Lazio in 2021, led the Italian team to their best Serie A finish since winning the title in 2000, finishing in second place.
However, he left Lazio seven points outside of a European qualification spot in ninth place in Serie A.
According to The Metro, Sarri has been offered a three-year contract by Forest to take Nuno Espirito Santo’s place. With claims that the Italian has been presented a swift return to management.
Sarri, according to the report, has turned down Forest’s offer and intends to return to the dug-out again in the summer.
In the meantime, Forest have begun an appeal against their Premier League four-point deduction.
After delaying the sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham for £47.5 million last year, Forest were found guilty of violating Profitability and Sustainability rules.
With nine games left, the Tricky Trees are now one point behind Luton Town in the Premier League after being docked four points.
