The former center defender for the Reds, who cost £20 million to sign from Southampton in 2014, was once the team’s record defensive acquisition.

He has already acknowledged that the Merseyside team has not been the same without him.

After Virgil van Dijk arrived and he made a number of mistakes on the field, Lovren saw his place in the team decline, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Lovren played just 33 games over two seasons, dropping to a backup role behind Joe Gomez and Joel Matip. After Liverpool won the Premier League, he moved to Zenit Saint Petersburg for £10.9 million.

“No, I don’t regret leaving,” the former Croatian international told Sport Express, as reported by Mirror, of his choice to depart Anfield. I made the solid choice to leave Liverpool in the summer, and I haven’t looked back.

“I got upset last season when I didn’t play but now everything is different.” The defender talked about his cordial relationship with Klopp, saying, “Jurgen Klopp knows that I think they miss me more than they do because we communicate.”

“He recently wrote, ‘We miss you.'” After I left, I had a conversation with Jurgen, but I won’t go into specifics. Jurgen wished him well and spoke nothing but positive words.”
