Divock Origi Liverpool icon and Jurgen Klopp favourite, has been demoted to AC Milan’s junior team by former Manchester United player Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Origi left a legacy at Anfield when he left in 2022, having scored in the Champions League final and the incredible Barcelona comeback, among several other famous late victories.
When the Belgian left the club, he was hailed as a legend. However, the renowned Ibrahimovic, who is now an advisor for AC Milan, has assigned Origi to the club’s young teams.

After joining AC Milan from Liverpool, he scored a single goal on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, indicating that the marksman has fallen severely out of favour in Italy.
Speaking to Italian media, the Swede stated, “Divock Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure are not in our plans.” They will be part of the Youth team because they are not involved in our initiative.”
Origi joined Liverpool for £10 million in 2014 after progressing through the French club Lille’s system via his native Belgium. Before the 2018/19 season, he returned to Lille on loan and then spent two years with Wolfsburg.
The aforementioned Barcelona brace, as well as the goal that sealed the Champions League final versus Tottenham in Madrid, cemented his status as the club’s cult hero.
After the striker’s departure in 2022, Klopp stated, “He is, and will be for me, forever a Liverpool legend.”
“Everyone on the team adores him since he was such a laid-back and lovely man. When I think about Div, I recall so many wonderful things, including important objectives, injuries… horrible injuries, and all of the ups and downs. He is a Liverpool legend, without a question.”
