Former Newcastle United defender, Fabricio Coloccini once broke two bones in his back while attempting a bicycle kick.
Football players at the elite level are frequently regarded as the best athletes. In the past, when the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo would leap into the air and perform amazing overhead kicks, the fans would stare in amazement.
Alejandro Garnacho, a teenage sensation for Manchester United, is the most recent player to score from this incredible effort against Everton on Sunday. However, not everyone is able to pull it off.
Retired former Magpies defender Coloccini, attempted an acrobatic effort in February 2013 and missed seven weeks of action. With the score tied at one, Southampton’s Rickie Lambert exerted pressure to the composed center back near the corner flag.
Nevertheless, Coloccini chose to give the supporters what they paid for rather than trying to win a throw-in by knocking the ball against his opponent. He then shielded the ball and finished three kick-ups before screeching through a bicycle kick.
Even though he was able to get the ball away, it cost him dearly because the 41-year-old landed awkwardly, hurt himself, and had to miss a significant portion of the 2012–13 campaign.

Fortunately, the defender with curly hair made a full recovery and continued to play for St. James’ Park for three more seasons. He featured in 274 games in all competitions for the club, scoring seven goals to solidify his legacy.
In 2021, at the age of 39, he hung up his boots after playing in his native country for San Lorenzo and Aldosivi. Between 2003 and 2014, Coloccini made 38 appearances for Argentinian national team.
