Former Real Madrid midfielder Alvaro Benito has reportedly endorsed AC Milan midfielder, Tijjani Reijnders as the perfect replacement for Toni Kroos.
Benito was gushing about the Dutch midfielder in an interview with MARCA, calling him a “cannon” and “ideal for Real Madrid.”
The former Spanish footballer emphasized Reijnders’ skills and said the 26-year-old AC Milan player would be a good fit in Los Blancos’ midfield.
“You’re not going to touch Bellingham, but you can take anyone out in either position,” Benito stated, implying that Reijnders has the talent to be a starter in Madrid’s midfield.

Since moving to Milan from AZ Alkmaar in 2023, Reijnders has developed into one of the team’s most important players. He was acquired by the Rossoneri for €20.5 million, but his worth has subsequently increased dramatically.
It should come as no surprise that the Dutch midfielder is being considered by a number of European powerhouses given his performances this season.
Reijnders has publicly expressed his appreciation for Barcelona star Andres Iniesta, stating that as a child, he kept a close eye on the Spanish maestro.
“My favourite position on the pitch? Number 8, of course. Lately, I’ve been playing higher up, at number 10, but it’s just to compensate for some absences.
“I was inspired by Andres Iniesta, whom I watched a lot as a kid,” he had admitted.
