Ahead of Saturday’s 2022 World Cup qualifier against Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Former Nigerian Waidi Akanni has charged the Super Eagles players to target early goals in order to unsettle their opponent.
He made this call in an interview with Completesports.com, where he stated that the team maximize their home advantage by picking the three points.
Akanni pointed out that the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr must ensure he picks the right players that will do justice to the game.
“The Super Eagles has what it takes to defeat their Liberian counterpart at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Saturday going by the array of stars at Gernot Rohr’s disposal.

“However, scoring early goals will be crucial for the team because it will unsettled Liberia and give our players more confidence to charge for more goals. We must remain focus until the referee’s final whistle because in football, anything can happen.
“I have no doubt that the Super Eagles will surely pick the three points against Liberia to kick their World Cup qualification campaign.”
