FA make official statement on West Ham fans attacking Man Utd bus

THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION has condemned the actions of West Ham fans following last night’s match with Manchester United.

The Hammers secured a 3-2 victory over the Red Devils in their last ever match at Upton Park.

But the story grabbing most of the headlines will be on events prior to the match.

As the United team bus made its way to the stadium, a section of West Ham fans hurled objects at the coach.

As a result kick-off was delayed by 45 minutes.

Unsavoury scenes continued once the match had started with West Ham fans throwing bottles at United goalkeeper David de Gea.

And the FA have vowed to work with the Metropolitan Police to establish what went on.

A statement of the FA’s Twitter read: “The FA strongly condemns the unsavoury incidents this evening involving both the Manchester United team coach outside West Ham United’s Boleyn Ground and objects thrown from a section of the home support during the game.

“We will work closely with both clubs and the Metropolitan Police to fully investigate these matters.”

A win for the Hammers moved them up into sixth place, one point behind United in fifth.
