Fabregas banned team-mates from speaking to him after losing his Chelsea place

Cesc Fabregas has revealed that he ordered his Chelsea team-mates to stop talking to him after he lost his starting place at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder has only made 17 league appearances this season but has found his way back into Antonio Conte’s starting XI in recent weeks, scoring two goals in his last three games in the English top flight.

Fabregas made only his sixth start of the campaign against Swansea at the weekend and grabbed an assist and a goal as Conte’s men opened up a ten-point lead at the top of the table.

‘In the beginning when I didn’t play, I told people not even to speak to me because I was really upset,’ he admitted after the 3-1 victory over Paul Clement’s side.

‘I can understand there are doubts with the philosophy of the manager.

‘He came in, wanted to see if I could adapt and I can understand that. I’m someone who wants to play with the ball, maybe not so much the defensive side.

‘But it shows I adapted to the way he wants to play and hopefully I can play more.’
