Fans Mock Cristiano Ronaldo As He ‘Agrees Deal With Saudi Arabia Club

Fans have taken to social media to mock Cristiano Ronaldo for agreeing to a £172.9 million-a-year deal with Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The 37-year-old’s contract with Man United was terminated earlier this month after he slammed the club in an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

The Portugal international is reported to have agreed to a two-and-a-half-year deal with Al Nassr, for an eye-watering £172.9m per year, and fans couldn’t help but react.

Fans Reaction To Cristiano Ronaldo Potential Move To Al Nassr

One fan wrote on Twitter: ‘Cristiano Ronaldo “Top Clubs want me, I’m still going to stay at the highest levels” About to sign for €200 million a season in Saudi Arabia. Like what! It’s like Messi going to America!! Ffs.’

Another tweeted: ‘So much for Ronaldo wanting champions league football a contradiction.’ While, one added: ‘Money aside, Ronaldo is only going to #Saudi to score some easy goals so that his goal tally is falsely inflated so that he can beat Messi.’

While another added: ‘Ronaldo did all of that to move to Saudi Arabia….ahh bro stop this goat stuff please’.

Others turned to Twitter to criticise the deal’s financial terms. One said: ‘Ronaldo getting £173m, for 1 year, ridiculous!!!!’. Another added: ‘As if Ronaldo needs any more money. Destroying his own legacy one stupid decision at a time’.

Others turned to social media to express their disappointment with his potential move, stating it would be bad to football.

The Portugal international turned down a transfer to Saudi Arabia last summer, but with no definite interest from Europe’s leading clubs, he appears likely to make the move now.

Al-Nassr are one of the most successful outfits in Saudi Arabia, having won the country’s top flight nine times, the most recent victory being in 2019.

Rudi Garcia, a former Roma, Marseille, and Lyon coach, is currently in charge of Al-Nassr. They also play in a 25,000-seat stadium.
