FC Barcelona Star Lamine Yamal Explains ‘Anger With Flick’

FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal gave an explanation of why he was ‘mad’ with head coach Hansi Flick over the weekend in an interview while representing Spain on the international scene.

Lamine was clearly disturbed when Flick took him off the field early in the second half of the Catalans’ thrilling 3-0 victory against Deportivo Alaves on Sunday.

The victory kept the Catalans top the La Liga standings by three points.

When asked to clarify his seeming irritation in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Lamine said that he was disappointed in himself more than in anybody else, reports Forbes.

“I think that more than angry was that I was not happy with my game. I demand a lot of myself and that is the line I must follow to play at 100%,” Lamine said.

Lamine stated that Flick questioned him whether his reaction had been because of his replacement or play.

“I could have helped the team and I told him that for the next game, I would be 100%.

He is very close to everyone, to those who play more, less, veterans. He gives a lot of confidence and that shows in the team.”

Currently training with the Spanish national team, Lamine will play in UEFA Nations League games against Denmark and Serbia prior to returning to Barcelona for a match against Sevilla at the Montjuic Stadium on October 20.
