The feud between Rio Ferdinand and John Terry, two of England’s most iconic players, has thrown the country’s sport into turmoil.
After Ferdinand, a BT Sport analyst in his post-playing days, made a few remarks in which he mentioned the top center defenders in the Premier League but did not mention the former Chelsea captain among them, the two central defenders got into a Twitter feud.
It all starts on BT Sport, where Ferdinand named Virgil van Dijk, Nemanja Vidic, and Jaap Stam, ahead of John Terry, as the best centre-backs the Premier League has ever seen. However, this did not sit well with the Chelsea icon, who expressed his dissatisfaction on his Instagram story.
Terry shared a story with multiple media clips and statistics in which he is referred to be one of the best in the world.
He wrote, “Opinions are great, but statistics don’t lie…”
And Ferdinand chimed in on Twitter, directly addressing Terry.
“It’s truly time to start addressing the fragile ego the moment one has to start pushing their own records and stats,” he wrote.
“You’re lucky I even put you in the top 5 after the racism case with my brother so be thankful you made it.”

Terry, on the other hand, didn’t hold back.
