Ferguson Gives Straight Answer When Quizzed With League Title Question

When asked who, out of Arsenal and Manchester City, will win the Premier League this season. Sir Alex Ferguson responded in a comically direct manner.

While at the Cheltenham Festival, he was briefly questioned about the title race. As the Gunners had a five-point advantage over the defending champions.

During his 26-year reign at Old Trafford, the former Manchester United gaffer guided the Red Devils to 13 Premier League titles. More than any other opposition coach.

Ferguson encountered Arsene Wenger more frequently, and they often battled it out to win the prestigious title.

The Scotsman’s biggest opponents at United during his tenure were the Gunners. In Ferguson’s twilight years as manager, City posed a serious challenge.

And now the two clubs have teamed up to unseat the Red Devils from the leading spot.

Ferguson, 81, wasn’t too delighted when asked about his forecast of the Premier League champions. The former United manager was quizzed during a brief interview with ITV Racing’s Matt Chapman. That who he thought would prevail in the two-horse contest for this season’s ultimate prize.

He replied: “I’m not interested.”

He would definitely love it if his beloved club, Manchester United is in the league title conversation. But it seems they are far off it as they are currently a mammoth 16 points behind Arsenal.

Arsenal would be in action this weekend as they will host Crystal Palace in a London derby fixture. While Man City on the other hand, will battle it out against Burnley for a semi-final spot in the FA cup.
