Ferrari legend foresees conflict

Alain Prost believes Ferrari may have to deal with in-fighting between Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel next season. Leclerc joined Ferrari ahead of the 2019 campaign after some impressive displays for Sauber during his debut season. He was drafted in to challenge number one driver Vettel and has succeeded as he leads the way for the Scuderia with two races left. The 22-year-old sits third in the Drivers’ Championship after picking up two race victories, two places and 19 points clear of his team-mate. Prost, who spent two seasons with Ferrari, believes the team will have some big decisions to make next term as they look to keep the pair happy. “It will be difficult for Ferrari to avoid conflicts between Vettel and Leclerc next year,” Prost told AFP news agency. “The only way out is to give them the opportunity to fight amongst themselves. Then, if one driver has a problem and his team-mate wins a couple of races, there will come a moment when a change of approach is needed.”
