FIFA Issues International Ban To Former Barcelona And Chelsea Striker

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has reportedly banned former Barcelona, Chelsea and Everton forward, Samuel Eto’o from attending Cameroon international matches for six months after he was deemed to have violated their disciplinary rules.

Eto’o is the president of the Cameroonian football association, FECAFOOT, at the moment. Although the specifics of the 43-year-old’s offenses are still unknown, he has been punished for violating Articles 13 and 14.

The breaches have to do with “misconduct of players and officials” and “offensive behavior and violations of the principles of fair play,” respectively.

According to the National World, Eto’o will be prohibited from attending any games involving the international Cameroonian team in addition to being restricted to attend any events involving the senior men’s team of the nation.

The suspension will take effect right now, but Eto’o has the right to challenge FIFA’s formal ruling.

In a statement issued by the World’s governing body, they wrote: “The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the President of the Cameroonian Football Association (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto’o, with a six-month ban from attending matches of Cameroon’s representative teams for breaches of articles 13 (Offensive behaviour and violations of the principles of fair play) and 14 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
