Barcelona Forward, Ansu Fati is currently in the team’s squad that will face AS Monaco in tonight’s UEFA Champions League match, with Hansi Flick reported to be set to hand him his season debut.
Prior to this game, Flick has some worrying reports for the team. After recovering from his injury during the international break, Fermin Lopez suffered another setback in his other leg while training. Similar to Dani Olmo, who will be sidelined for the next four to five weeks due to an overload sustained during the match against Girona.
There was, however, some positive news as well. Gavi and Frenkie de Jong are currently training with the team. But the club will not rush their recovery.
According to Mundo Deportivo as reported by Barca News Network, Fati has fully recovered, and he can make his season debut in tonight’s game.
It will be a long time coming for Barcelona supporters to see him on the pitch if he plays tonight. After several years marred by injuries, he had left Barcelona to play on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion in England for one season, hoping to find some consistency.

Although Fati was not a regular starter in the 2022–2023 season, when the Catalan club won the Spanish Super Cup and La Liga under Xavi, he still managed to score 10 goals in that campaign.
Flick is now once more focused on getting the most out of a player who, at a very young age, mesmerized Barcelona fans with his performances and was given the honor of inheriting Lionel Messi’s number 10 jersey.
