Foden Addresses Offensive Man United Chant With Three-Word Message

Manchester City forward, Phil Foden has reportedly broken silence with a three-word message following vile chants about his mum during the derby clash against Manchester United.

During the first half of a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford, a number of United supporters were heard chanting an obscene song directed at the England midfielder.

Following the game, City manager Pep Guardiola blasted the conduct, with the Catalan saying everyone involved should be ashamed.

“Lack of class,” Guardiola said during his post-match press conference.

“But it’s not [Manchester] United, it’s the people, you know?”

“We are so exposed, people who are on the screen in world football – managers, owners, and football players especially.

“Honestly, I don’t understand the mind of the people involving the mum of Phil. It’s a lack of integrity, class, and they should be ashamed.”

According to Manchester Evening News, after being jeered by United fans after he was replaced by Jeremy Doku in the 57th minute, 24-year-old Foden posted a strong message on Instagram after the game: “We keep going,” he wrote.

The England international and his teammates have had a difficult season in spite of great hopes. As City struggle to defend their fourth consecutive Premier League crown, the team’s highly decorated academy star has scored 10 goals and supplied six assists in 40 games.
