Former Chelsea Winger Victor Moses Makes An Unexpected Return To English Football

Luton Town have signed former Crystal Palace and Chelsea winger Victor Moses.

The 33-year-old lands at Kenilworth Road on a permanent free agency contract, pending to international clearance, having spent the last four years at Spartak Moscow after joining the club on loan from the Blues in 2020.

Moses stated on the Hatters’ website: “I’m looking forward to it. I received a couple offers from Europe, but I told my agency that I had decided to stay here, and here we are. I’m overjoyed and honored to be at this club, and I can’t wait to get started.

“I met with Rob (Edwards, manager) before I came, and I spoke with the directors, who told me about the club’s plan and history, and all I want is to be a part of its success.

“I want to come here and enjoy my football, work hard for the club and for the team, and get back to where we belong in the Premier League.” Reported By indpendent News.

Moses began his career at Palace and then spent two and a half years at Wigan before joining Chelsea in 2012, where he was a member of the Europa League-winning club in his debut season.

Before joining Spartak Moscow permanently in 2021, the former England youth and Nigeria senior international had time on loan at Liverpool, Stoke, West Ham, Fenerbahce, and Inter Milan.

Edwards stated, “Victor is someone we’ve been talking to for a while. He trained with us last week and played 60 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game, so we made a decision because we believe he can help us.

“He provides us with additional depth and adaptability, because he is someone who can play both sides or as a number 10.
