Arda Guler has had a difficult start to the season, particularly given the huge expectations placed on him.

While the player has overcome his weak fitness and returned stronger, he is still not receiving the recognition he deserves, as Carlo Ancelotti is spoiled for midfield choices.

His performances with the national team, as well as the limited minutes he plays for the club, scream for more importance and regular starts, but they go unheard.

Montenegro manager praises Guler.

In a recent interview, Montenegro national team manager Robert Prosinecki, who previously played for Real Madrid, discussed Real Madrid phenom Arda Guler and his current circumstances.

“Arda Guler has huge potential. I’m not sure if Carlo Ancelotti will give him more opportunities to play the minutes he wants.”

“I can’t say anything about Ancelotti’s decisions; but from my point of view, Arda will get better every day, he will have many more minutes step by step,” according to him.

The former Real Madrid player praised the youngster for his high IQ, dominance with the ball, and focus on attacking. When asked if he could become a legend like Luka Modric for club and country, he replied that it is too early to make a comparison.

He is the captain of the Croatian national team, he has already played a World Cup and Nations League final,” he added about the legend.

Finally, he revealed what the Turkish phenom must do to become like Modric.

“Arda has a long way to go. To be like Modric he must consistently transform his potential into success on the field throughout his career.”
