Foster optimistic about Watford’s future

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster says his side can kickstart their season by beating Norwich at Carrow Road on Friday night. The Hornets remain bottom of the Premier League table after failing to win any of their first 11 games and their fans have already witnessed a change of manager, with Quique Sanchez Flores replacing Javi Gracia in September.
Flores’ arrival did give Watford a momentarily lift, with the Hertfordshire outfit picking up three draws in a row against Sheffield United, Tottenham and Bournemouth.
Back-to-back defeats since then against Everton and Chelsea have seen them slip away and they need at least seven points to climb out of the bottom three.
While their only win of the campaign came in the Carabao Cup against Swansea, Foster believes Friday’s match offers the perfect opportunity to breathe life into their season.
The former Manchester United stopper told his club’s official website: “I think at the moment it’s a matter of confidence – if we can get that first win under our belt, we can go on and really build on it. “If we can get a win and a couple of decisions go in our favour, it can really turn our season around. We know these games are huge for us, absolutely huge.”
Watford have been without striker Troy Deeney for the last two months, but he returned to Under-23s action this week and may feature at Carrow Road.
Flores’ men have picked up two points on the road this season, but they do not have a great record away from home against Norwich. Their last win in Norfolk came in 2010, Danny Graham amongst the scorers on that occasion, and they have only won at Carrow Road four times in the last 15 years.
