FPL GW23 Recap: Tango Like Dango; iSoccer Winners

The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek 23 saw managers all over the world stare in awe as something  unbelievable happened before their eyes.

It is not uncommon to see a differential score the highest points in a gameweek, but to see an asset with one of the lowest ownership top the pile is like looking for a mouse in the cats’ den. This is the case with Bournemouth’s winger, Dango Ouattara (£5.0m), who is owned by just 0.5 percent managers before this GW deadline.

The Burkinabe scored a hat-trick to collect 21 points in the Cherries’ ruthless 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, who boast one of the meanest defence in the Premier League this season.

One very lucky manager, used their triple-captain chip on the 22-year-old which subsequently left several managers thinking about such possibility.

Erling Haaland (£14.7m) seems to be getting back to his best following a wonderful performance in Manchester City’s 3-1 win against Chelsea as he plundered 12 points after scoring a goal and assisting another. The Norwegian has now made it five goals in as many games.

Newcastle United talisman, Alexander Isak (£9.5m) proved his blank in the Magpies’ 4-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth was a fluke.

The 25-year-old yet again showed his importance as he scored a brace to claim 13 points in the Toons’ 3-1 win away at Southampton.

Following two consecutive gameweeks without any return, Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) returned to the scoresheet as Liverpool continue to stake a claim in their quest for the league title as they thumped relegation-threatening Ipswich Town 4-1 at Anfield.

The Egyptian’s teammate, Cody Gakpo (£7.6m) took over the realm with a brace and an assist to record 16 points as he is set to see his ownership surge with the Reds getting ready for a double gameweek against Bournemouth and Everton.
