FPL GW26 Recap: Isak, Mbeumo and Salah Masterclasses

The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek 26 saw three of the top five highest-scoring assets delivered double-digit hauls for their respective owners following two frenetic GWs where several managers hit the 100-point mark.

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) claimed 14 points after a goal, an assist, a clean sheet and the maximum bonus points in the first match of the gameweek as Brentford decimated Leicester City 4-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Alexander Isak (£9.5m) was a point short of Mbeumo after scoring a brace in Newcastle United’s entertaining 4-3 win over Nottingham Forest.

The Swede, who is currently ranked fourth in the seasonal points tally has now registered seven double-digit hauls this campaign.

The last match of the GW saw the most popular asset in the game, Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) delivered yet another double figure as he matched Mbeumo’s tally as Liverpool produced a scintillating performance in their 2-0 win over the reigning champions, Manchester City at the Etihad.

None of the aforementioned trio won the player of the week, as the gong went to Aston Villa’s new signing, Marco Asensio (£6.0m), who plundered two goals as the Villans produced an incredible comeback win over Chelsea.

The Spaniard claimed 15 points as a result, which was one ahead of Mbeumo, Salah and Brennan Johnson (£6.2m), who also netted a brace in Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-1 win against Ipswich Town.
