France coach Didier Deschamps hailed two-goal Olivier Giroud after their victory over Sweden last night.
The Chelsea striker is now within seven goals of France’s all-time leading goalscorer Thierry Henry, who has 51.
“We are not talking about a player who has not shown anything yet,” said Deschamps.
“We are often too unfair to him.
“We can not question what he has done, what he is capable of doing, what he will be able to do in the future.”
